A 65 Volkswagen Bus reported stolen in Spokane in 1974 was recovered from a container being shipped from the Los Angeles / Long Beach seaport to the Netherlands.

A check on the VIN showed the vehicle had been reported stolen by the Spokane Police Department on July 12^th 1974. The case was still open, with the ownership of the vehicle belonging to an insurance company.
