Bellingham Road closures and restrictions December 1-5

The Bellingham Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week December 1-5, 2008, to accommodate construction.

Sunset Drive (SR542)

Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue construction on Sunset Drive from Woburn Street to McLeod Road. Traffic will be disrupted between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm as large trucks enter and exit the site and flaggers direct traffic to a single lane. Bakerview/Irongate

Granite Northwest, Inc., under contract with the City of Bellingham, is installing a traffic signal at the intersection of E. Bakerview Road and Irongate Road. Weather permitting, they will begin paving the road shoulders at this intersection on Monday, December 1. During this work traffic will be directed to one lane, so drivers should expect significant delays. Bay/Holly/Prospect

Tiger Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be installing sidewalks, pavers, landscaping and art features at the intersection of Bay Street, Holly Street and Prospect Street. Bay Street will be closed to vehicle traffic, however, there will be pedestrian access to all businesses at all times.
